Parent-First Support

A Safe Starting Point for Your Athlete

Some families are not looking for a traditional sports program. They are looking for a coach who will listen first, move at the right pace, and create a setting where their child feels comfortable, supported, and successful.

Adaptive Training Is Not One-Size-Fits-All

Adaptive training starts with an individual intake conversation. A coach will meet with parents and the student to understand comfort level, goals, movement needs, communication style, and the best level of sports training or general movement before recommending private, small-group, or other support.

Coach Rob starts by learning what feels safe, what motivates your child or athlete, and what type of session will help them feel successful.

  • Balance, coordination, strength, and movement skills
  • Sport introduction and positive physical activity
  • Confidence-building at your child’s pace
  • Private or very small-group coaching options
  • Clear communication with parents before and after sessions
  • Adjusted activities based on comfort, ability, and goals
  • A patient, respectful coaching environment

Your Athlete Does Not Need to Be “Ready” Before Starting

Parents sometimes worry that their child needs to already be athletic, coordinated, focused, or comfortable in a sports setting before beginning. That is not the case.

Tenacity meets children and athletes where they are. The goal is to create a positive experience, build trust, and help each child move forward at the right pace.

The Intake Process

Start With the Right Questions

Before recommending private training or a small group, Tenacity talks with the parent and athlete to understand needs, comfort level, goals, communication preferences, and the safest starting point.

There is no pressure to register for a group class right away. The goal of the intake is to understand your athlete and recommend the safest, most comfortable starting point.

Use the adaptive inquiry form to tell us about your child’s age, experience, comfort level, support needs, communication preferences, and goals. From there, Tenacity will recommend the best next step.

We respect your privacy. Your information is never shared.

FAQ

Adaptive Sports Questions Parents Often Ask

Parents often have quiet questions before trying adaptive sports. These answers are meant to help you understand the pace, format, and first step.

Does my child need to already be athletic?

No. Your child does not need sports experience or a certain skill level before starting. Adaptive Sports Training begins with comfort, trust, movement, and understanding what support your child needs.

Will my child be placed in a group right away?

Not unless it feels like the right fit. Some children do best with private training first, while others may be ready for a very small group. Tenacity starts with an intake so the first step feels safe and comfortable.

What if my child needs breaks, extra time, or a slower pace?

That is okay. Sessions can be adjusted for pacing, comfort, communication, energy level, and confidence. The goal is progress without forcing the child into a setting that feels overwhelming.

Is adaptive training only for children with physical disabilities?

No. Adaptive training may support children with physical, developmental, sensory, communication, confidence, or coordination needs. It can also help children who are nervous about sports or group activities.

Can parents stay and watch?

Yes. Parents are welcome to stay during sessions, especially while the child is getting comfortable. Parent communication before and after sessions is part of the process.

Can Step Up For Students be used?

Tenacity Sports Performance is an approved Step Up For Students provider. Families should confirm eligibility, approved expenses, purchasing rules, and reimbursement requirements through their Step Up account. Tenacity does not determine scholarship eligibility or guarantee reimbursement approval.
